Fuji GA 645zi

Photos coming soon.

The Fuji GA 645zi is a medium format film camera introduced in 1992. The camera is fully electronic and features an auto focus lens with a somewhat limited zoom range. Despite this, I found the lens to be very sharp. This was my sole camera purchase when visiting Tokyo, Japan in 2016. For a medium format camera, it was surprisingly compact and pleasant to hold and handles more like a SLR. I particularly liked taking images of landscapes with this camera. In 2020, I started to run into a problem whereby the camera would sometimes rewind the film mid-roll without warning. The cost to repair was pricey, so I opted to sell it instead (fully disclosing the problem of course). While I do miss this camera, I don’t miss the uncertainty that comes with owning vintage cameras that are fully automatic and rely entirely on their electronics.
