Nikon FE

Photos coming soon.

I was gifted a Nikon FE along with 3 Nikon lenses (50, 105 & 200mm) by my wife’s work colleague Cory, who knew that I collect and still use film cameras. His neighbour left the camera behind after moving away and it sat in a box in Cory’s house for years. I was very thankful to receive the camera, having never shot let alone owned a Nikon before.

The Nikon FE was produced between 1978 and 1984. It is a manual focus SLR with electronic shutter and is meant to be used in aperture priority mode. This camera is often described as a workhorse – a camera that is easy to operate even in the toughest of conditions. It has a large and bright viewfinder, nicer perhaps than my Leica M6, and feels very solid in your hands, without being overly heavy.
